At the end of 2019, the ASTRA team launched and implemented its first crowdfunding campaign. The fundraising campaign for the urgent needs of victims of human trafficking and their children lasted for 40 days, from October 30 to December 10, and was separated through the Donacije.rs platform. During that time, we managed to collect 414,920 dinars and exceed the desired amount by 19%.
For campaign promotion, a video and visuals for social networks were made. The campaign on social networks took place during all 40 days of the campaign and achieved excellent visibility.
Assistance and donations came from various individual donors, organizations, and businesses, who donated money, goods, or services to support our campaign. On the other hand, the campaign was also backed by followers on social networks, who contributed with shares, likes, and other actions to make the voice of our movement heard and reached those who can help.
We are incredibly grateful to all our supporters for working together to show victims of trafficking and their families that they are not entirely alone. That there is a community that supports them and understands their situation. This added value is difficult to measure with money, but it can be sensed in our clients’ attitudes and views when help is delivered to them. THANK YOU!

Dear Sir/Madam,
Over the course of 20 years of its work, ASTRA’s Team for victim support received more than 38,000 calls over its SOS Hotline, identified and provided various forms of support to more than 500 victims of trafficking. After leaving or being rescued from the trafficking situation and receiving first aid, victims need to go through the re-socialization process, which is long, difficult and fraught with challenges – survivors are usually stigmatized, rejected by their immediate family, face unemployment and struggle with trauma and consequences of the inhuman treatment they were subjected to. They lack support and means to satisfy their basic needs and, consequently, their children also suffer.
In order to raise funds and meet the basic needs of former victims of human trafficking and their children, we launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Donacije.rs platform on October 30. The total amount of funds we hope to raise is 350,000 RSD and it is intended to meet the most urgent needs of ASTRA’s beneficiaries and their children. These include packages of products for personal hygiene for children and adults, shoes and clothing for children and adults, food, firewood, urgent medical assistance expenses, administrative fees for obtaining personal documents, continuation of education, courses and trainings fees aimed to facilitate finding employment, tools for manual work, home appliances, transportation costs and snacks for schoolchildren…
We use this occasion to address you – humane, active and socially responsible individuals – to join efforts and help victims of trafficking and their families, to make their everyday life, at least in some aspects, a bit easier as well as to restore their faith in people and their capacity for charity.
