The second ASTRA crowdfunding campaign was organized during the summer of 2020, the period July-August, and this time in completely changed circumstances due to the pandemic caused by the presence of the COVID 19 virus. The reason for organizing the campaign LET’S SHOW FORMER THB VICTIMS THAT THEY ARE NOT ALONE DURING A PANDEMIC lay in the fact that the presence of Covid-19 virus further aggravated the lives of former victims, besides all others misfortunes and difficulties that characterize the lives of families of former victims of human trafficking.
The campaign was organized mostly online through social networks, but we also had some media appearances.
We launched this campaign intending to supply the families of former victims of human trafficking with packages of hygiene products and protective equipment (masks, barriers and gloves), and if those families include school-age children, we wanted to donate packages of school equipment. On this occasion, it was possible to donate by paying money through the Donacije.rs website or directly to ASTRA’s account. But donations of goods were also possible. The value of all donations (35 in total) amounted to 582,551 dinars, and the requested amount was exceeded by 24%. However, most of them were donations in kind. For example, one company supported the campaign with a donation in goods whose counter value amounts to 256,244 dinars. Furthermore, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway and Group 484 matched all donations up to 2,000 euros. Their contribution is also aimed at urgent support to the families of former victims of human trafficking, in the form of hygiene packages, food packages, clothes, shoes and school equipment. As for specific donations in cash, during the implementation of this year’s CF campaign, 34,500 RSD (336.47 $) were collected by direct payments to the ASTRA account, and 36,326 RSD, or 366 $, by payments through the Donacije.rs website.
