An ASTRA representative participated in the Missing Children Europe Board meeting, held on 5–6 October 2026 in Budapest. The programme included a visit to partner organization Kék Vonal, which supports children, young people and adults concerned about a child’s safety in Hungary.
Kék Vonal operates the free, anonymous, round-the-clock 116000 helpline. Trained professionals and volunteers provide emotional support, help callers assess their situation and refer them to appropriate services. In missing child cases, the organization supports families, assists children who have run away or are considering doing so, and cooperates with child protection services. In cross-border cases, it works with other members of the Missing Children Europe network.
For ASTRA, which has operated the European hotline for missing children, 116000, in Serbia since 2012, such visits offer a valuable opportunity to learn about partner organizations’ practices and strengthen cooperation in protecting children and supporting their families.
