Astra’s representatives participated in the training “Work on the SOS hotline and direct assistance to victims of human trafficking” in Sarajevo from April 5 to 7. The training was organized within the project “Voice of CSOs in the FightingTrafficking in Human Beings,” conducted by our longtime associates MFS-EMMAUS, with the support of the EU. The focus of the training was practical knowledge and skills on direct assistance to victims and the SOS hotline. The training was attended by civil society organizations from different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, Goražde, Tuzla, Konjic, Bihać, Sarajevo, Srebrenica, and Bijeljina. The following topics were covered: the causes and indicators of human trafficking; work on the SOS hotline (stages of conversation on the SOS hotline, active listening techniques, work with particularly sensitive groups); principles and minimum standards of SOS hotline, types of calls on the SOS helpline, how to save ourselves from “burning out” and more. The trainers successfully conducted all activities and subjects with the participants’ full attention.
