Main subject was „Improvement of victims’ access to compensation for damages“. The training was organised by the Council of Europe under the project „Prevention and combatting trafficking in human beings in Serbia “, which is a part of the joint programme „Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey“ co-founded by the Council of Europe and European Union.
More than 20 lawyers from various cities from Serbia, together with ASTRA team, have had a constructive training, shared their experience and good practise examples in order to strengthen our, almost twenty years long, partnership.
Some of the lawyers have shared their experience on specific cases, and we had the pleasure that one of the judges of Supreme Court of Cassation spoke from her point of view about legal procedure and cases of human trafficking. Last but not least our associate from Bulgaria shared a good practice example of compensation claims as well as possible avenues of bringing a case before the European Court of Human Rights.
