ASTRA organized training for the work on licensed SOS line for victims of trafficking on 13-16 November 2018. The participants had an opportunity to gain knowledge from older colleagues of the feminist movement, to get acquainted with work in women’s organizations, with solidarity, women’s networking, as well as with the first steps, values and principles of the work on SOS line. Also, young female social workers, psychologists, defectologists and students of humanities listened about the issue of human trafficking, specificities of trauma after exiting the human trafficking situation, psychological and physical consequences of trafficking, and domestic legislation and its practical implementation. After the theoretical part, it was envisaged that the training continued as practical work on the SOS line for the duration of three months. One part of the practical work was carried out by trainers during the four-day workshop. We believe that such education will bring new and refreshing energy, as well as the knowledge and experience to ASTRA team of young specialists.
Organization and implementation of the training were supported by OSCE Mission in Serbia. We thank our partners, who, along with ASTRA activists, made this training successful and important for the participants.
