Have you ever wondered how many victims of human trafficking are in Serbia, and how many in neighboring countries? How do we combat this form of organized crime here, and how do our neighbors tackle it? Who is responsible for the formal identification of human trafficking victims, and what is the justice process like for victims?
In collaboration with partner organizations from North Macedonia – Open Gate-La Strada Macedonia – and Albania – VATRA Psycho-Social Center – ASTRA has researched these and other questions, and we bring you important insights and data we have jointly gathered.
The Country Info Brief provide comparable data and insights regarding human trafficking, highlighting the efforts of each country in combating and prosecuting this crime. They will serve as a strong basis for further political actions and will be instrumental in advancing our project activities, particularly in lobbying and demonstrating the impact of the project.
The information sheets were created as part of the project SPOT-ON! State Responsibility for Prosecuting Human Trafficking OFF/ON!, which was supported as a regional grant and is part of the project “SMART Balkans – Civil Society for a Connected Western Balkans,” implemented by the Center for Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD), the Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM), and the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM). It is financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway (NMFA).
