PRESENTING THE INDEPENDENT REPORT ON SERBIA’S PROGRESS IN CHAPTERS 23 AND 24 OF THE ACCESSION NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE EU

The coalition „prEUgovor“ will be presenting its independent report on Serbia’s progress in implementing policies in the area of Judiciary and Fundamental Rights (Chapter 23) and the area of Justice, Freedom and Security (Chapter 24) on 4 June at 11h at the conference in the Media Centre.

In addition to providing an overview of the state of play in key chapters of the accession negotiations of Serbia with the EU, at the conference there will be discussed:

  • In what ways the rule of law is jeopardized in Serbia, with special emphasis on the independent state institutions and the new Law on Police

Predrag Petrović, Belgrade Centre for Security Policy

  • To what extent gender equality is respected in Serbia and what are the ways to prevent the violence against women

Tanja Ignjatović, Autonomous Women’s Centre

  • What is the position of victims in court proceedings

Ivana Radović, ASTRA – Anti-Trafficking Action

  • How to solve the problem of migrations in the absence of a coherent strategic framework

Miroslava Jelačić, Grupa 484

 

Moderator: Bojan Elek, Belgrade Centre for Security Policy

The coalition „prEUgovor” was formed with the aim to monitor the implementation of policies during the process of Serbian accession negotiations with the EU, focusing on chapters 23 and 24. The mission of the “prEUgovor” is to propose measures to improve the state of play in policy areas that are subject of negotiations, using the process of the EU integrations to achieve substantial progress in the further democratization of Serbia.  Members of the coalition “prEUgovor” are Autonomous Women’s Centre (AŽC), ASTRA – Anti Trafficking Action (ASTRA), Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP), Centre for Investigative Reporting in Serbia (CINS), Centre for Applied European Studies (CPES), Group 484 and Transparency Serbia (TS).
