Novi Sad: Ten Arrested for Facilitating Prostitution

Novi Sad – Novi Sad Police Department stated that the police arrested ten suspects for facilitating prostitution and ordered the 48 hour detention for them.

Arrested persons are: Ivan K. (57), Miljan B. (35), Ljubomir G. (52), Mile T. (24) and Zoltan C (35) from Novi Sad; Dalibor R. (26) from Sremska Kamenica; Vladimir R. (31) from Vrbas; Stefan S. (20) from Indjija; Dragan S. (33) from Rumenka; and Predrag K. (41) citizen of Montenegro residing in Novi Sad.

They accused of facilitating prostitution in hotel “Park” in Novi Sad since April 2007 taking fees of at least 20 Euros.

There is a grounded suspicion that they engaged girls for prostitution sent by Blagoje R. (38), citizen of Montenegro, who is in detention since April 2011 under suspicion that he committed trafficking offence.

According to information acquired by “Press” all ten of the arrested men were employees of Hotel “Park” owned by a controversial businessman Ratko (Bata) Butrovic. Accoring to this source this is the case of “elite” prostitution which involves girls from upper social strata.
