Meeting of women’s organizations from region with the representatives of the European institutions

Swedish foundation Kvinna till Kvinna organized a meeting of women’s organizations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo with the representatives of the European institutions and CSOs from Europe, in Brussels on April 24-28. The main topics of the meetings were the EU accession process of the Western Balkans countries, and women’s participation and the inclusion of gender issues in that process. Among others, ASTRA’s representative met with Charlotte Isaksson, Gender Advisor to SACEUR, Tatiana Mrazikovom, Head of Unit, Enlargement and European Economic Area, Andre de Munter, Policy Analyst – Western Balkans, Turkey and Enlargement policy, Joanna Mycock, Secretary General of the European Women’s Lobby, Karen Burbach in charge of human rights and Karlijn Slegers, Policy Officer, Neighbourhood Division, Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the EU, Jozo Rados, MEP from Croatia and Clive Rumbold  from EEAS. Further, representatives from Serbia had a bilateral meeting with Konstantinos Niafas, Policy Officer in General Directorate for Enlargement. On this occasion, representatives of the organizations from the region visited European Parlament – sector which deals with women’s rights and gender equality and the European Women’s Lobby.
