In celebration of the European Anti-Trafficking Day, the twelfth “Freedom Has No Price” conference was organized by the association “Freedom Has No Price” from Novi Sad at the Faculty of Sport and Psychology – TIMS. The conference aimed to educate students, as future professionals, who may engage with the issue of human trafficking in their work. It provided students with the opportunity to acquire specific knowledge on human trafficking and strengthen their professional perspectives to better protect victims.
The conference was attended by a large number of students from TIMS, the Faculty of Philosophy (Department of Psychology and Social Work), the Faculty “Dr. Lazar Vrkatic” (Business Psychology and Law program), and the Law Faculty.
The introductory remarks were delivered by Dobrila Markovic, Executive Director of “Freedom Has No Price,” Samuil Petrovski from EUS Serbia, and Prof. Dr. Zlatko Ahmetovic, representing the Faculty of Sport and Psychology – TIMS.
Following the introductory workshop, a panel discussion was held with speakers including Marina Papovic from ASTRA, Milan Aleksic from NGO Atina, Mitar Djuraskovic from “Freedom Has No Price,” Bogdan Uzelac from the Center for Protection of Victims of Human Trafficking, and Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Padejski Sekerovic from the Faculty of Sport and Psychology.
Marina Papovic, representing ASTRA, discussed the first steps in combating human trafficking, the establishment of the ASTRA SOS hotline for direct victim support, the link between missing children and trafficking, and the importance of prevention.
The panel discussion was moderated by Ivana Miloradov, a journalist from Radio-Television Vojvodina.
