The OSCE Mission to Montenegro, in cooperation with the National Anti-Trafficking Office of Montenegro, organized a conference “Developing guidelines for the application of the provisions on non-punishment of victims of human trafficking” in Podgorica on June 26-27. During the conference, the activities of the OSCE Mission to Serbia were presented, as well as guidelines for the implementation of the non-punishment provisions for victims of human trafficking in Serbia, together with case studies. Topics discussed in the second part of the conference include the legal basis, the normative framework and modalities of the application of the non-punishment principles on victims of human trafficking in international law, as well as the challenges for applying this principle of in Montenegro. The speakers at the conference were OSCE representatives and members of the working group for the development of guidelines in Serbia Tamara Mirović, Deputy Republican Prosecutor, Milan Žarković, professor of the Academy for Criminalistic and Police Studies, Mirko Vreća, legal professional at the Center for Trafficking Victims’ Protection and Ivana Radović from ASTRA.
