CAMPAIGN “NAKED FACTS” 2008

NAKED FACTS
Women are not meat. Children are not slaves. People are not for sale.

NAKED FACTS is the fifth anti-trafficking campaign which ASTRA has conducted since the beginning of its work. The campaign seeks to remind both general public and government authorities that human trafficking problem is still present in our country, the fact often forgotten in a society increasingly tolerant to violence and human rights violation.

The first part of the campaign, conducted in June 2008, was focused on the prevention of human trafficking and most common forms of recruitment, with the message BE INFORMED. The idea was that informed and aware citizens were less likely to be easy prey for traffickers and their suspicious offers. The second part of the campaign launched at the end of September carries the message REPORT! Our opinion is that all of us as citizens of this country must not stay indifferent and turn a blind eye to the fact that some women, children and men around us live like slaves. Quite the opposite, we should take a proactive attitude and report information or suspicions that we may have. Only in this way, together, we will have a chance to build a society we wish to live in, where every individual is free and their rights respected.

NAKED FACTS, on ASTRA’s and their own behalf, are presented by Jugoslav Ćosić, Milutin Petrović, Ivan Tasovac, Dejan Anastasijević, Željko Bodrožić, Branislav Lečić and Vukašin Marković. They have been chosen as men who possess strong professional and personal integrity and who are known for insisting on the truth.

Campaign NAKED FACTS is supported by OSCE Mission to Serbia and ADA – Austrian Development Cooperation.

On December 5, 2008, at the event “La Nuit des Publivores” organized by the agency Super Star, the NAKED FACTS anti-trafficking campaign won the prize for the best non-profit campaign in Serbia in 2008.
