October 8th 2025, Chisinau, Moldova – At the invitation of the organization Ave Copii from Moldova, the Director of ASTRA presented thirteen years of experience of the 116000 Missing Children Hotline in the Republic of Serbia.This meeting brought together key Moldovan stakeholders, including representatives from law enforcement, social services, and NGOs, alongside international experts in field of missing children working on the 116000 hotline. Participants reviewed the current landscape of missing children in Moldova, including gaps in coordination, legal frameworks, and case management practices. The session provided an opportunity to share evidence from recent research, present best practices from neighboring countries, and discuss practical solutions tailored to Moldova’s context.
Through interactive discussions, panel sessions, and breakout groups, attendees collaboratively identified actionable recommendations, explore strategies for stakeholder coordination and capacity building, and chart concrete steps toward the successful implementation and sustainability of the 116000 hotline in Moldova. The meeting aims to create a shared understanding of challenges and opportunities while fostering consensus on priority actions to strengthen child protection systems and ensure timely support for missing children in Moldova.
