ASTRA launched the “16 Days of Activism” campaign: A discussion held with high school students in Cukarica

Yesterday, we spent the day in Cukarica talking with local high school students about human trafficking. The event was also attended by representatives of the Center for Social Work, the local Health Center, and other key institutions.

“Human trafficking is not something happening somewhere far away – it is happening here and now. Anyone can become a victim of exploitation, which is why it is crucial to stay informed and learn to recognize early warning signs,” emphasized the ASTRA representative.

With this event, we symbolically marked the beginning of the global “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign, reminding everyone that gender-based violence is often at the root of human trafficking. Girls and women are most frequently affected, which makes it essential for the community to understand this connection and work actively on prevention.
