Arrests for Human Trafficking

Belgrade – The police have arrested today there persons suspected of committing human trafficking with assistance of unknown persons whose identity is being established.

The police reported that Bajro Suljković (38) and Sabahudin Granica (48) from Novi Pazar and Gabrijela Imamović (37) from Belgrade were detained. According to the communication, “Over a longer period of time, the suspected were involved in the recruitment, purchasing and selling of the girls, some of whom were minors, for work in the café-bar Bristol in Novi Pazar, where they were forced into prostitution. On March 18, the police officers of the Novi Pazar Police carried out a check-up of the café-bar Bristol, in Suljković’s ownership, where they found Granica and Gabrijela Imamović. In the night bar, several female persons were “found providing sexual services to the clients from the territory of Novi Pazar and Raška”. “The police will continue work on establishing all circumstances associated with this offence and other potential trafficking victims, after which, within legal term, a criminal report will be filed to the competent District Prosecutor’s Office”, it is said in the communication.
