The OSCE Secretary General, Lamberto Zannier greeted the appointment of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Madina Jarbussynova as a new Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings.
In the announcement, he pointed out that he was looking forward to working with Jarbussynova, who was joining the organization’s Secretariat after two successful years as a project coordinator in Ukraine, in the promotion of OSCE’s efforts to combating trafficking in human beings. Zannier emphasized that combating human trafficking was an area where OSCE had made significant progress.
The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, the Head of Swiss Mission, Didier Burkhalter, also greeted the appointment of Jarbussynova, who had been in her career a Deputy Head of Kazakh Mission, a representative in the UN and a member of the UN Commission for Sustainable Development.
